Psalms 46:1 Be Still

PSALMS 46 (KJV)
MESSAGE ENTITLED
BE STILL

The Merriam-Websters dictionary defines the word be as: “a word used to indicate the identity of a person or thing” now the word still defined means: “still as not moving, or making a sound, and another definition is deep silence, calm, stillness, motionless, unmoving, immobile, silent”. (2014, Merriam-Webster)

So the message that the Lord wants people to realize when they read this chapter is that God is in control of every situation and circumstances, and instead of you trying to worry about how your problems or worries will be solved just be still.

Now Let’s put these two definitions together: The word Be identifies you as the individual or the identity of someone that God just wants to be still, now of course God does not want you to physically be still and stand in one place, he just wants you to be at peace from worry and frustration and know that he is God.

Meaning: God was here way before we was, and he not only founded the seas, but Genesis 1:1 (KJV) says in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, and when tests and trials come your way, you must realize first of all, that he knows that you cannot handle it, and why I ask you would you take it upon yourself to think that you can solve some of life’s most difficult problems without the help of an almighty God?

The Scripture declares in Jeremiah 3:33 (KJV) call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things that you know not. Now think about this if you are constantly losing sleep and worrying how could you be still?

If you are pacing the floor walking the floor all night trying to borrow when God said you are the lender and not the borrower how are you putting your trust in him? The Bible declares in Psalms 46:2 (KJV) therefore will not we fear though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried in the midst of the sea.

That means I don’t care if the whole earth is crumbling and falling down all around you in the natural sense like earthquakes, sink holes or any other type of disasters or catastrophes God said fear not he’s got you.

And in the spiritual sense; if you trust in the Lord as Psalms 3-5-6 (KJV) says with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge God, and he will not no one else God will direct your paths. Can I say this, sometimes we put our trust in others to help us and when we do we get the biggest let down of our lives so that is why it is important to trust in the Lord.

Here is another Scripture Truth and that comes from Micah 7:5-7 (KJV) it says Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom for the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law, a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.

Now the seventh verse is how you should be thinking it says Therefore I will (that’s you) look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. And now here is one for the road it comes in the eighth verse when it says Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me..

That means yes there are going to be some people or friends of yours who think you are crazy or have lost your mind because you did not listen to them or take their advice, but when they get to the point that they are talking about you in the most cruel way, or calling you names, or laughing at your so called downfall. listen when that happens remember to start giving God thanks and yes let those praises to God with the fruit of your lips, offer sacrifices of joy and praise to God. And Don’t forget to magnify God with the joy in your heart with thanksgiving, that says to your enemies or friendofme’s “he who laughs last best which means when a person does something to humiliate you, the tables may turn at the end and you will be in control of the situation”. Now of course you don’t have to exact vengeance on people when they laugh at you, because God says vengeance is mine the lord will repay Romans 12:9 (KJV)

And for the record friendofme’s will come, and yes enemies may go, to but if God Romans 8:31 (KJV) says be for you he is more than the whole world against you. And can I say this never and I mean ever despise the day of small beginnings that means sometimes that sometimes things that may look small to you, are big In the eyes of God, meaning he sees the road to your destiny and he knows that your small beginnings Zechariah 4:10 (KJV) Why? because humble beginnings are like a seed that is planted and we all know that a seed planted should be watered and given the best sunlight because it will grow and so will you, into the full bloom God knows that you will be.

And hear this don’t knock the tests and trials of life because they only come to make you strong and instead of getting mad when things don’t go your way look at the lesson to be learned in those tests and let it be you that says to a test and a trial you know what I can conquer this test and this trial why? Because I have the favor of God over my life.

Last but not least for every problem there is a solution, and well with problems many of them are magnified to frustrate you and make you complain, but in the eyes of God he sees the champion he made you to be, and when you stand up with the courage and the measure of faith you can do all things through Christ which strengthens you Philippians 4:13 (KJV) so just trust in the Lord, and know that you are in Gods hand and master plan and when you are in the hands of a great and wise creator who can pluck you out of it? Noone Be Blessed amen

Good Evening

I’m back and refreshed, I had to take a little time out and do editing for the three books I have coming out soon and so stay tuned for more announcements and pictures coming soon…

Tonight I have a fresh dose of Gods word for everyone( Group Session) and to all who enjoys reading the blogs, The Morning Afternoon and Evening Cup is back so stay tuned, this time of course there will be cliffhangers adventures in each of the series. 

 I promise the short stories will keep you on the edge of your seat, and oh yeah the stories will twist, turn, and freeze, then restart…and well this time you are going to have to figure out what happened with a what would Jesus do? no clues…but each of the stories will have that dose of the word of God that you need to help you get through the day.

 And as always I always give (not make) people the opportunity to accept the Lord as their personal savior, but overall I am glad you are stopping by and telling your friends or relatives about how much you are enjoying these blogs, because all of the stories you have seen and will see will be available soon at a store near you.

The Afternoon Cup Exclusive- Jesus Loves Me updated version

Mommy help me little Laura doesn’t look good what’s wrong Marilyn I don’t know I’m at the hospital, oh my gosh me and Pappa are on the way okay mom hurry Marilyn knows what’s wrong but she can’t tell them just yet…Marilyn is whisked to triage with Little Laura, the nurses and doctors are working on her to save her life.

what happened? I put her down on the floor and I said sit right here Laura, I have to go to the bathroom, I mean I can see her from the bathroom, I closed the door just briefly because I had to get up from the toilet, and to wash my hands and just that fast she crawled into the kitchen and when I came out the bathroom she had the antifreeze container in her mouth…

why would you leave it in the house and not in your garage I don’t have a garage and it was way in the back of the cabinet like how could this happen to me. The medical secretary came to the back trying to get medical information but Marilyn was so upset she couldn’t talk I have to call her dad he’s in the service oh my gosh what am I going to do pray the nurse said pray….

Little Laura was laying there looking a grayish blue, while the medical team of five doctors and nurses were working to save her life…mam how much was in the container it was a little bit..very little..was it more than a tablespoon or a couple of tablespoons more than a couple of tablespoons but not a cup.. I’m sure of it because I used most of it and when did you purchase it YESTERDAY…Marilyn screamed loudly why are you questioning me…It was cold my car wouldn’t start, the mechanic asked me did I have any antifreeze…I said no…so I went and got it…I usually don’t have to do this my husband’s is in the service…he does all of this…I know you’re upset honey we have to ask you this the nurse said.

The phone rings Marilyn’s husband is on the line.. Honey what’s wrong it’s Little Laura she got in the antifreeze under the cabinet WHAT…Ian screamed..Ian is crying not my baby…whats wrong…Sir..all of a sudden you could hear his buddies trying to console him in the background…my little girl drank antifreeze…oh man…the commanders assistant grabs the phone from Ian, Mam we are putting him on a plane right now… the phone goes dead.

The social worker comes back and asks Marilyn what happened…Marilyn is looking at tubes everywhere in Little Laura’s almost lifeless body… nurses are fighting hard to keep back tears, as this little two year old curly blonde hair, blue eye girl was in critical condition. As doctors continued to question Marilyn, plans were underway for her husband to be flown home immediately thankfully he was a commander so the rush was put in to get him there quickly.

Marilyn’s Mom and Dad came in Dad was wearing his clergy collar as he always does in emergency situation, plus he is the pastor at a local Baptist church… Dad and Mom said everyone is praying Marilyn what happened? Mommy and daddy she drank some antifreeze that was under the cabinet…oh my goodness Marilyn’s Mom said… daddy please help me please…Marilyn screamed…come on baby sit here with your mom…all of a sudden the physician that was working on Little Laura came out of the triage room with tears in his eyes…Marilyn’s Father looked at the doctor…

You have just received The Afternoon Cup…..Wow

Now while we are waiting…Here is a warning that every parent in every city, state, or country, should think about and that is never, and I mean never leave any type of medicine laying around, or alcohol or chemical solvents, in an unlocked cabinet, especially down below in bathroom cabinets where children can reach them, and never ever leave them under kitchen sinks where they have easy access to.. and how many of us as parents know when you have a child three and under that you can’t turn your back on that child for one minute.

Furthermore doctors know all to well what can happen when parents are careless and while Marilyn could’ve left the antifreeze in the trunk of the car she like so many others will leave it in the house to fill it with water, only to use it later, just in case the car runs hot, and while this can happen to any parent, most women whose husbands are in the service will teach their wives how to change a flat tire, and etc..etc..but sometimes accidents like this happen.

Furthermore parents and caretakers, children don’t understand the dangers of antifreeze or any other chemical solvents you keep laying around and when it comes to babies the physician will tell you, the antifreeze tastes sweet, and here you have Little Laura lying at the brink of death..and Little Laura’s grandparents praying for her recovery, while they try to console Her Mom who is crying her eyes out… her Dad who is serving his country is devastated over the news is enroute via plane to the Triage Emergency Room…

The doctor comes to Marilyn’s dad wiping his eyes Marilyn and her mom walk up the doctor said Maam I will speak with you soon, I need to talk to your dad for a minute..is that okay yes…come on over here Madilyns Mom said trying to console her daughter

Sir I tried to save your granddaughter, I did everything that I could is she…still alive…Marilyn’s dad said.. what I’m trying to say is I and the other doctors did everything we could to save her…and we couldn’t…but in the course of trying your granddaughter had help…what do you mean Marilyn’s father said???

Sir what I’m trying to say is right before her heart stopped she started singing a song I heard in Sunday School, when I was a little boy her age, called Jesus Love me this I know..And when her heart stopped we worked and worked on her..Marilyn’s dad held his hand to his mouth as if to say oh no…

And uh sir I’m not finished, Marilyn’s father looked puzzled..Sir all I can tell you is this real bright light came in the room and we all stood there and it seemed to hover over Little Laura, Now the light we have on in triage is bright..but this light was brighter than any light we ever seen before..our light couldn’t do this…Sir what I’m trying to tell you is after that light hovered over your granddaughter her heart started beating again..it’s a miracle!!!

Madilyns dad looked at the doctor oh my goodness is she going to be okay..Yes Sir yes…She is…Marilyn’s father hugs the doctor for the record Sir all of us as doctors in this and every hospital all over the world do what we do to save the life of our patients, but when it comes to a child, it hits home because we think that if it were not for the grace of God that could be our child….And Sir there are times when we realize as part of the triage team when God intervenes on behalf of our patients we have to step back and let him do what he does best, and while all cases don’t end this way…Your Granddaughter received a Miracle…Praise God Marilyn’s father said.

As the doctor and Marilyn’s dad walked out of the conference room the nurses were teary eyed yet smiling…when a sound pierced the hallway I want my papa,…I want my papa..it was Little Laura can I go see her, sure the doctor said…come on Honey and Marilyn…Papa, Papa, Little Laura hands reached for her grandfather…Hi Little Laura…Pappa I sing Jesus wuv me..you did Madilyns father said to his granddaughter…yes sing it with me Pappa…the nurses and doctors who were in the room helped Little Laura…Along with her grandparents…sing..Yes Jesus Loves me for the Bible tells me soooooooo…

And while miracles like these and more happen all over the world remember to keep your children safe by putting those dangerous chemicals out of the reach of your children,

The Prayer of Invitation: Now one of the daily miracles anyone with a willing heart can receive is when you confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead, thou shalt be saved, the Bible says, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation for the scripture saith whosoever believeth in him shall not be ashamed.

The Prayer of Confession: is if you say Lord Jesus come into my heart and forgive me for all of my sins and  Lord I believe that you died and rose from the dead that I may be saved and Thank You Lord for saving me and Lord Jesus please write my name in your Lamb’s Book of Life Amen…that’s the miracle of salvation that saves you from the penalty and power of sin.

But still yet you must find a church home where you can grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…Amen

The Blessings of Hope

May your day today be a perfect day 

May your day today be a prosperous day

May your day today be a day of comfort and peace

May your day today be filled with joy and laughter

May your day today bring new beginnings of favor

May your day today be filled with hope for the future 

May your day today be spent calling a family member you haven’t spoken to in a long time

May your day today find you forgiving someone who hurt you and the faith to move on from that hurt

May your day today find you forgetting the past and embracing the future

May your day today find you enjoying a good conversation with friends

May your day today be filled with prayer and great expectations about your possibilities which are endless

I pray that your day today be filled with your abilities to dream big

I pray that you know all things are possible to them that believe

I pray that if you are sick today you will be healed

I pray if you are bound by a habit you can’t kick that you would be free today

I pray that if you don’t have a job or income or home today you will have one tomorrow

The Morning Cup Exclusive-Unconditional Faith

Kelvin Masterson Johnson please come to the stage and get your diploma…the crowd cheered and clapped loudly because they knew of the crippling accident Kelvin was in a year ago and how his paraplegic status made his situation looked grim..I mean the chiropractors and surgeons told Kelvins parents that if his son was able to walk again it would be by the hand of God…And for months as Kelvin lay on his hospital bed he cried and lost a massive amount of weight off of his two hundred twenty pound frame.

I mean could you imagine a high school all around collegiate athlete with a full sport scholarship that included room and board and stipend…Now Kelvin was a twin and Kelly his sister being a tennis celebrity was devastated to hear that Kelvins legs were so mangled in an accident after being hit by a drunk driver, took a year from professional sports to help care for her brother.

Now Kelvin thankfully did not have to get pins in his hips or legs but his spine was hurt to the point that walking would never be an option again…But Kelvins pastor told him constantly as he visited him to never give up hope…he told Kelvin God has Miracles that can defy modern science and whether the physicians want to admit it…when they see it happen they know it was God..

Now day after day for an entire year Kelvins Pastor came to visit him to bring him an hour session of word and faith teaching, and while Kelvins parents thought this was admirable…they knew that their son’s condition would cause him to be bedridden, and stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

Now one of many life questions Kelvin asked was why him, what did he have to do to deserve this…i mean I was a straight A student, Kelvin said, I never gave my parents, or grandparents one moment of trouble, WHY ME KEVIN SCREAMED…Kelvins Mom Dad and Twin Sister Kelly ran in the room where Kelvin and the Pastor was because they heard him scream….Are you okay….Yes Mom… why me Mom and Dad…Why Me…i didn’t do nothing wrong…I did everything right look at me..Kelvins Mom fought back tears Son you’re going to be okay…Kelvins dad Keenan said Katherine come on in the living room and sit down….Kelly sat down on the chair in Kelvins room…

Mom and Dad I’m SORRY YOU HEAR ME…Kelvin cried I didn’t do anything…Now there was total silence, yet Kelly was crying because she knew how much her brother looked forward to going to one of the best colleges in the nation…but here he was…I need some air…Kelly ran out of the room crying…

 I’m going to anoint your head with oil now Kelvins Pastor said now listen to me Kelvin…okay..as he wiped away his the tears from his eyes..Kelvin…Yes Sir…I never stopped believing in the healing power of God…And Son you will walk again…how…Kelvin said.. I can’t get out of bed…yes Son I know not on your own but with the help of an Almighty God you will walk again…Kelvin began to listen today to a story of a man who sat at the pool of Bethesda waiting to be healed for thirty eight long years…but at a certain season an angel came down and troubled the water and whoever got in first was healed…Now Kelvin today is your day to be healed..do you believe it?

I don’t have any other choice…yes you do the Pastor replied…you have a choice to believe in the Lord your God so shall you be established, and I know people think there are no prophets anymore..but the Bible said in 2nd Chronicles 20:20 if you believe his prophets so shall you prosper…Kelvin cleared his throat..And said okay..The Pastor prayed with faith and said let’s agree today that you will be healed and that your faith will make you whole….okay

As Kelvin listened to the word he noticed that his toes started tingling….I CAN FEEL MY TOES…I CAN FEEL MY TOES…WHAAA his mom said as she and Kelvins Dad ran in the room…I can feel my toes…Mom came in and stared…in disbelief…Kelvin remember when you were a little boy…I used to tickle your feet…yes Mom Kelvin laughed..Mom noooo..you’re not going to..And yes Kelvins mom did…Kelvin said Mom I can feel that…Kelvins Pastor said do you believe you can walk..Kelvin dad said..Now I don’t want your feelings hurt…are you sure you…Dad Mom just tickled my feet, I felt it…Kelvin put his hands up…The Pastor said believe Kelvin help me up…Dad…Dad… Kelvin said….Get me his chair Kelly….As Kelly ran to get Kelvins Wheelchair..Kelvin Grabbed his Dad and held on he put his foot up and wiggled his toes…I can feel my feet… he said dad pull me up…Kelvins father pulled him straight up…Kelvin Said now let me go…Kelvins Father said Son are you sure…Kevin said yes…And with one foot in front of the other mom everyone was so excited…just like we are today…Kelvins Principal replied….There is no secret what God can do amen Kelvins classmates…replied

As everyone congratulated Kelvin and the graduation was over, and people began walking to their cars…all of a sudden the sound of a screeching car was coming down the street Kelvin dropped his cap and looked up it was his former rival from another school who heard about Kelvin sudden recovery…Kelvin looked and shrugged his shoulders like come on… Mom Dad and Kelly get in the car…All of a sudden the car came to a screeching halt…And Patrick jumped out of the Car…And Kelvins Mom screamed….Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo…..

You have just received The Morning Cup…

Now here we have a prize pupil and star athlete by the name of Kelvin with his dreams crushed and no hope for recovery walking up on the stage to get his diploma…until a speeding car with a rival from another school shows up…And then there is you…that’s right you faced with insurmountable situations and circumstances not knowing what to do crying your eyes out but this parable truth story offers you a glimmer of hope….that not only should you believe in miracles but expect one in, to, and for your life…

Kelvin had to believe against all odds but when he met the conditions of Faith called believe…all things were possible and if you too meet the conditions of Faith that says God My situations and circumstances need your help you will like Kelvin receive your healing today….Hebrews 11:1 Listen God responds to your faith and without your faith it’s impossible to please God for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and yes that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

 So never ever quit and never ever give up hope even when the doctors say there is no hope it you are facing the loss of a home, a loss of job, or income…or family etc says your future looks bleak,  Remember death and life is in the power of your tongue so speak life to your situations and circumstances and watch God turn your situations and circumstances around. Today you may really need his help and everyday thereafter, but remember God will never leave you nor Forsake you Amen.

Now a true miracle comes through the testimony of salvation that says if you confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead thou shalt be saved for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation for the scripture saith whosoever believeth in him shall not be ashamed…And if you say Lord Jesus come into my heart and forgive me for all of my sins and Lord I believe that you died and rose from the dead that I may be saved and Thank You Lord for saving me…you shall be saved…Now don’t forget to say Thank you Lord for saving me and Lord Jesus please write my name in the Lambs book of Life…And believe me my friend Jesus will do just that, but now so that you will grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ you must find a Good church home Amen

The Evening Cup Exclusive- Part 2 Get Some Much Needed Sleep

Brianna Get out of the house Cory Runs up to the porch and flames are everywhere noooo Brianna Brianna….All of a sudden Brianna comes flying out of the house into Corys Arms… Brianna are you okay? Yeah Cory Come on Skipper..Skipper comes running out wagging his tail…I couldn’t leave my dog… run Brianna Cory said…we’ve got to get away from the house

I couldn’t see Skipper he must of been in the basement….I kept calling him and he ran the other way through the dens backdoor and then the fire in the kitchen…,Cory I couldn’t see Brianna was crying…I couldn’t see, I heard you calling me I felt trapped but all of a sudden there was a bright light…it looked like a doorway and I ran to it..into your arms of course…Cory and Brianna trip and fall as they run away from the house..

Here let me help you up. Brianna… they both look up at the brand new log cabin house their parents just had built a year ago, the fire department was up at the house putting out the fire…there were police cars flashing light and sirens…the neighbors…we have to walk back up the hill again…Brianna said yeah. oh noooo Cory Look up there at the mountains…rumble rumble oh my gosh Cory it’s an avalanche…nooo Cory Brianna froze…. Brianna come on run we can’t outrun this avalanche Brianna…Skipper starts to runs the other way…Skipper where are you going??? Brianna tries to run after Skipper… Brianna no come on people are running..the snow is falling fast Skipper Skipper Skipper…Brianna Nooooooo…

You Have Just Received The um you h….or have you…..well let’s see…The Morning Cup would really give us the outcome of what really happened…..oh okay….you don’t have to wait till in the Morning….

Brianna…Brianna Michelle Dayton…did you get any sleep Mrs. Conner said… uh what happened Brianna said shockingly.. well the bell rang and all of your classmates are at lunch..where’s my test…you mean I’m in school.. its right here…looked like you fell asleep on the last question did you grade it Brianna said?

Yes thankfully you passed but you will have to stay after school for falling asleep in the classroom….Brianna is staring at her teacher in unbelief…What’s wrong Brianna I had this strange dream…Brianna I suggest you get some sleep you look like you really need it…. Mrs. Conner, Mrs. Conner….whats going on…Brianna hears her mom calling her….Mom Brianna said..where are you Mom…Brianna Brianna Mom..Brianna wake up.. Brianna screams oh my gosh mom what’s going on…you overslept get up for School…School ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Now you have Just Received The Afternoon and Evening Cup but what’s going on…well like Brianna life teaches you an important lesson and its called “You need to get some sleep” I mean you work, and work, and work, and you are trying to be superman or superwoman and while you refuse to believe you are a workaholic your body has a way of reminding you once you do fall asleep that something isn’t right..You see Brianna started studying for her test at home… so she thought, and then she was awakened in school by her teacher, so she thought again, only to be awaken by her mom which really tripped her out.

And when you are sleep deprived, your brain plays tricks on you…and when you finally fall asleep you dream and dream and many times you wake up like oh my gosh what happened..you happened…now get some much needed sleep, or take a much needed nap, or a much needed vacation. Think about this you are one person you can’t do everything, and when you put your body into overload your mind is the first to let you know…you need to get some sleep… and God forbid if you are driving home late one night, and you get sleepy, or you are working around dangerous machinery and you get sleepy…remember you can push yourself to the limit, but when you push it to far, your body will shut down and while sleeping gives you the reboot your brain needs you must always be careful not to send your brain into overload.

And even though this parable story might sound a little twisted think about how twisted things could become when you don’t get any sleep, so put yourself first there is only one of you a nd yes you deserve Sweet dreams so you can wake up feeling refreshed.

Now here are some Rest Scriptures to ponder on: Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus Phillipians 2:5  God will keep you in perfect peace if you keep your mind stayed on him..Isaiah 26:3 For God gives his beloved sleep Psalms 127:2 In quietness and confidence shall be your strength Isaiah 30:5

The Afternoon Cup- A Soft Answer

Carrie Jean Annette why aren’t these dishes done, I left home at nine o clock this morning and its five o clock in the evening, and we are expecting company at seven thirty.

Mom I’m sorry my stomach was hurting and I couldn’t do anything about it Jackie was walking around all day and I asked her could she do the dishes..Jackie runs up stairs and said mom Carrie is lying mom, she just got home a few minutes ago from hanging out with her friends Carrrie you need to stop lying to Mommie!!!

You’re grounded Carrie..Mom Carrie said..Mom nothing all I asked you to do was get the dishes done, clean the kitchen, and then you lied and said your stomach was hurting…Really Carrie…but Mom I’m supposed to go out with our Sunday School Class they are going tomorrow mom…Well Carrie you won’t be there…aha Carrie…Jackie Said… Jackie you are grounded too Mom what did I do? You are teasing your sister who lied to me, and well now both of you are going to have to think about what you did…hopefully you will learn an important lesson, one not to lie and one not to tease anyone.

Carrie go put the dishes in the dishwasher, and Jackie you go straighten up the kitchen before our guests arrive because your father will be here in fifteen minutes and I need you to set up the dining room he is bringing food home from the caterer.

Mom Carrie said if I’m grounded how come I have to clean up….Carrie Mom said how would you like to be grounded for a month Mom Carrie said…well alright then get your chores done now… and I know you have homework that you did not turn in…how do you know that mom? Because your teacher called me right before your principal did, and if you don’t stop hanging out with those hard headed friends of yours you are going to get kicked out of school…no Mom I’m not going to get kicked out!

Well young lady rules are rules… you are grounded hand over your cellphone Mom that’s not fair Mom why??? hand it over young lady…Honey I’m home Dad…Carrie runs past her mother and says Dad mom is trying to take my phone…what did you do Carrie well um…well you see…um…give your mom the cellphone she’s trying to ground me daddy I can’t go out with our Sunday School outing that’s not fair!!!

Frank she flat out lied…I told her to do the dishes at nine o clock, this morning, and I got home at five she said her stomach was hurting and Jackie said she had just got home…oh she did…Carrie said…but..dad…Dad said no buts about it, and for lying to your mom you got an extra week…”THAT’S NOT FAIR CARRIE SHOUTED” Go to your room NOW CARRIE…DAD YELLED…Carrie ran up the stairs crying its not fair..don’t make me come up their young lady DAD YELLED…Jackie finish setting up the dining room…Pow Pow Pow…

Frank what was that…Carrie…Mom Said…Thump…Carrieeeeeeee….Mom Dad and Jackie Ran up the stairs….Carrie Carrie open the door…Carrie Dad said open the door baby…open the Door Jackie starts screaming, Carrie please open the door….CARRIE….all of a sudden dad tells mom and Jackie to step back…And he kicks the door open Annette call 911…Mom and Jackie look down…And all of a sudden….

You just received The Afternoon Cup…

Now while the Morning Cup gives no clues, and The Evening cup gives you the storyline at the end, The Afternoon Cup has a cliffhanger effect that makes you wonder could things have been done differently?

To The Readers: What would you have done differently then Frank, and Annette? Did Jackie have to tell her mom that Carrie was hanging out? Why did Carrie’s mother have to ground her? And why did Carrie’s Father have to Scream at her, and threatened to Come up there..(to spank her of course)… Well the main reason was Carrie lied…The Bible talks about liars and its just not good to lie, and when it says a liar shall not tarry in my sight..that means someone could not tolerate someone not telling the truth..here’s what the scripture says in Psalms 107:7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house; he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

And in Proverbs 14:5 it says a faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies…Now while the storyline does not give a clue yet…this is one important truth…And that’s never, ever, ever lie because one day all liars will have their part in the lake of fire which burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death Revelation 21:8 and if you could imagine getting burned from a stove, pot, or a curling iron, no one wants to spend eternity in fire…The Bible says our loins (not the natural ones) must be girt about with truth..that means truth must always prevail in your words, conversations, deeds..And yes truth is one part of the whole armor of God in Ephesians 6:14

The Bible Says in 2nd Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness but is longsuffering towards usward not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance…And if you confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead thou shalt be saved for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation for the scripture saith whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed, and if you say Lord Jesus come into my heart and forgive me for all of my sins Lord I believe that you died and rose from the dead that I might be saved and Lord Jesus Thank You for saving me and Lord Jesus please write my name in the Lambs Book of Life… And guess what Jesus will do just that…Amen!!!

And while all of Heaven rejoices at you accepting Jesus as your personal Saviour, you must find a church home where you can grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Amen.

Epilogue: Now let’s find out what happened…Carrie Dad said..Yes Dad why did you do that because I was mad and well since I had these firecrackers I figure I would just light them I didn’t mean to scare everybody…you’re hand is bleeding Carrie you could of gotten hurt..Now you have to get stitches..owwww it hurts..Carrie here…mom gives her a towel…Carrie we don’t ground you because we want to…we ground you so that you won’t do things that will get you in trouble…Mom the ambulance is here Jackie said let’s go Carrie..Dad looks at Carrie and said I’m so glad you are okay…Carrie said Dad and Mom I’m sorry for scaring you can you pray for me please…Yes Carrie’s Parents said we always will…I love you Mom and Dad and I promise to be good from now on we believe you Baby…Carrie lays on the stretcher.. we will be right here Baby… Jackie Stay here just in case the guests arrive Mom said.. and tell them we had to cancel dinner..okay mom…Jackie watches as the ambulance pulls away….

Message To Parents: time out is an option when children are unruly…and well some people believe spanking a a child keeps them in line, and while I will not advise anyone how to raise their children, children will do things like Carrie did here except she had firecrackers..but you could imagine what her parents…and you thought when they heard a pow pow pow and then a thump on her floor..parents the Bible says a soft answer turns away wrath Psalms 15:1 and just think what could’ve or would’ve happened if there was no yelling, Listen sometimes it’s the softness of your voice that will turn away the wrath of a volatile situation and remember when you talk to your chidren, act like you are trying to help them and not hurt them….Amen…God Bless You

Windowed Eyes

When you look through a natural window what do you see? Well the answer would be it depends on what window you are looking out of, for example when you get up in the morning your eyes are the first window you look out of and it’s through your eyes that you get to view a word we all call life.

Now even though builders and manufacturers have provided us with windows to fit our homes, cars, churches, or businesses, what good would they be if they didn’t have anybody to look out of Windows? Moreover could you imagine having a home with no window?

And how claustrophobic would that would make you feel, or could you imagine having a car with no windows? Like how could you see the other cars coming..do you realize how important it is too see a window? Because some people have been born blind, or are partially blind and they will never see a window.

Have you noticed or understood why windows are really important? Well they are designed so that everyone can get a view from their own perspective about the beauty of life, that’s right besides going outside which is wonderful the windows we look out make us reflect on how beautiful life is.

I mean we can see the rain, the sun, the moon, the flowers, kids playing buses and trains moving, people going to work, and though stain glass windows have many colors sometimes, we can still see the silhouette of things from the outside of the window.

The point I’m trying to make is take a little time and reflect on how Good God has been and the beauty of creation…I mean sure we live in a world full of ills and woes but we still have a lot to be thankful for.

Now let’s say for example you are going through a hard time well think about this, someone else is going through an even worser time, or think about this you may be on top of the world happy joyful and full of life and someone may have just lost everything.

Listen to this: The Bible speaks in Ecclesiastes 3:1 That there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven….

And while some of the things mentioned are a time to be born, a time to die,a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted…etc we get to see daily through our windowed eyes every facet that happens in life.

Still yet in all things we behold the beauty and awesomeness of God, and an important truth is to understand that our lives are a Gift from God not to be taken lightly, and whether you believe it or not we all are created to give God glory Amen.

The Assignment- A God ID

What we Have: We all have hands, and on our hands we have a set of fingers, and on our fingers is nails, and also on our fingers we also have fingerprints…Now to the ones who were born with no hands God still choose someone else’s hands to help you, yes even with a prosthesis you were given the ability to use these hands that were uniquely designed for you, which means yes he still included you, And if you have no fingerprints because of that prosthesis… you still have a unique serial number attached to your prosthesis that tells someone your hands identity. In other words God included you too

Listen to this truth everyone of us has an identification Mark via their feet when they were born or via fingerprint for identification purposes…Now the point I’m trying to make is that you are so unique that God chose you to be his very own.

That’s right… and as well as your fingerprints are uniquely designed How??? The Bible says the very hairs of your head has been numbered Matthew 10:30 and you know what that means?

This means let’s say for example: you cut your hair bald…if you notice you will see little dots of where each strand came from… now to you that cut your hair bald each of those dots in your head has been numbered by God and if one strand of your hair is cut God knows whether it is number twelve, or seventeen hundred strand.

Also while we can ask everyone to do everything for us like go get some water, or fix my food, or bring me a plate, we can’t ask nobody to drink water for us, or go to the bathroom or eat for us why??? Because each of us has been given an assignment to fulfil and the greatest assignment we have is we must all learn to be ourselves.

Remember no one can be you, and if they are carbon copies, or wannabes guess what, they will never be you because when God created you, he created the best you for you…Amen

And another unique identification you have that distinctly is just for you is your ability to confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead thou shalt be saved for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation for the scripture saith whosoever believeth in him shall not be ashamed…isn’t that wonderful??? Now while we all can say it together when you say The Prayer of Confession it again uniquely identifies that you truly belong to the Kingdom of God Amen.

The Morning Cup- Teenage Peer Pressure

Take those cups and saucers off the dinner table Joan, mom why do I always have to do the dishes, make Brian do something sometimes…watch your mouth young lady Joans mom Carla said..sorry mom I’m so stressed out finals are here and I’m wondering if I will pass my grades.

Joans mom said you’ll pass I’m sure you will if you apply yourself…the phone rings I got it Brian Said…Hello Yes Mr. Marcus are you serious that’s cool wow okay…Mom guess what Principal Marcus called and said our twelfth grade Band is going to France and guess what its all expenses paid…Really wow..Mom how come we can’t go anywhere?

Joan you have to wait until it’s your turn but mom Brian gets to go everywhere he gets to go the football games, soccer games, he goes to the movies, Joan you have to stop complaining all the time, everytime I turn around you are turning into a little naggy bug..Mom just kidding Joan it’s important, to remember that you should never complain about anything, because the Bible says in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you..1st Thessalonians 5:18

Mom but think about this you let Brian go everywhere he wants to go and he waltzed in here the other night at twelve midnight and I’m sick and tired of you sticking up for Brian, it’s Brian, Brian, Joan go to your room No….young lady did you hear me No mom I’m not going to take this anymore…young Lady No…Joan grabs her pocketbook and coat and runs out the door..Joan, Joan

Mom Brian says what’s eating Joan??? Joan is a little upset about me and her father talking divorce last night and I think she is reacting to the stress of it all…still yet mom there’s no need for Joan to be disrespectful to you mom..plus I’m grown and why do she think that she can go everywhere she’s a girl and who is going to let her go out at fifteen years old, I’m eighteen mom.

I know, but something is eating at Joan she’s not normally this vocal about things…Ring…Ring…Ring…Mom runs to get the phone Joan is crying Joanie what’s wrong Joanie…Mom I’ve got something to tell you..What Joanie come home…Mom I can’t you will never forgive me…forgive you for what…Mom a couple of months me and a group of friends went out and well someone was serving drinks…drinks…what kind of drinks..um I don’t know but I felt dizzy and the only thing I remember was the room started spinning and I didn’t…Joanie..what..why didn’t you tell me Mom that’s not all….oh my goodness Joanie…Mom Mom Joanie started crying uncontrollably…Mom I’m Sorry I have to tell you this….I…..

You have just received The Morning Cup

Here we have a complaint from a girl named Joan who is fifteen years old with a mom and dad who is on the verge of divorce and why would any fifteen year old complain about a eighteen year old who she say gets to go everywhere? but why should she complain her brother is eighteen years old?

 What would a fifteen year old do on their own without supervision? pretty much nothing on their own??? But add peer pressure to the factor, and teenagers and drinks that have alcohol in it…And then add a young girl about to tell her mother what she did or what was done to her, and while this is a parable story there are teenagers who face peer pressure everyday and what parents like Joans Mom usually does is..she recognized changes in her daughter’s behavior and attitude, and in this parable story sure enough she was right.

And while The Morning Cup does not give you the outcome you may be a parent facing a situation with your teenager, but if you act like you were never a teenager, it will drive them further away, plus it is wrong.. listen you have to put yourself in their place and realize that they are coming of out an elementary shell and moving into the phase of adolescence..I call adolescence the pre-golden years…not the elderly golden years but the moving from the teenager into the adult years..but…

With a whole lot of patience and not being too overbearing… And learning to talk to your teenagers instead of hollering and screaming at them, it will show them that you care, Moreover if they feel that you don’t care you could lose them to the streets..And trust me while you retain the right to be the parent, never, ever, try to be your child’s friend..just be the listening ear and let them know you care Again listen to them and on’t compromise what you believe…meaning if you have rules in your home don’t bend or break them to win their approval,

But be a loving and caring parent, and they will recognize your care and concern, also at least your line of communication with them will be open and most of all don’t forget to pray for them because like everyone else teenagers need prayer too. and The Bible says the effectual servant prayer of a righteous man availeth much! James 5:16

 

Father God in the Name of your Son Jesus I thank you for everyone who has a teenager today, and Lord I pray that you will bless each teenager with an angel of protection who will guide them through the paths of life with your wisdom counsel and guidance.

And Lord I pray that you give their parents the love patience and understanding that they need to believe that everything is going to be all right as long as they put their trust in you Thank You Lord for hearing my prayers and their prayers too in Jesus Name.
